Lecture Series: Ingrid SchindallThursday, January 16, 2020
Ingrid Schindall is a passionate printmaker and book artist based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She has a methodical, yet curious and experimental studio practice. Her prints and artist books have been exhibited internationally and throughout the east coast. She is devoted to her writing practice and has produced six limited edition books, all written, designed, hand printed and bound by the artist. Schindall is the founder of the boutique letterpress print shop and bindery, Nocturnal Press as well as IS Projects, a communal printmaking and book arts studio whose mission is to cultivate love and understanding for traditional print and book media in South Florida.
IS Projects is a public-access printmaking and book arts studio whose mission is to promote innovations and developments to print and book media by providing knowledge, training, and a supportive work space for artists. IS Projects houses a fine art gallery as well as full letterpress and screen printing shops alongside fine art printmaking and book binding equipment. Through exhibitions, residencies, workshops, hourly studio rental, internships, book binding services, edition printing and commercial printing, IS Projects strives to cultivate a deep love of fine craft in South Florida. A healthy print community is a sign of a thriving art scene so its role as Broward’s only community print shop is vital in the larger arts ecosystem.
